CS Should Be Based On Net Income – Child Support Formula Case 20

stressed man

This is our twentieth case study.

This is John’s Story:

John – Please tell us about your situation?

Wife left me for my best friend & I never see the children

How much did you pay on the old formula?

On the NEW formula what will that amount be per month?

Are you happy with the new formula?

What are your main reasons for being not happy with it?

I have to pay more because of no shared care.

Children are financially well supported by myself her husband and her wage.

I have been replaced as their father but she remains married to my wallet.

If child support was a set amount per child split between both parents for the basic necessities, what do you think is a fair amount per month per child?

What else would you like to say?

CS should be based on net income.

New living allowance ridiculous but children entitled to a better lifestyle.

CS should be capped at 40 hours, I have a life too & costs to start again after being dumped.

CS should be the same as WFF ie how much the household brings in.

John – thank you so much for sharing your story with us.

We want to hear your story!

If you would be happy to share your story with our community – we would love to hear it. Please fill out our Case Study submission.

  1. $1000 per month here! Kids mum left me for my best “friend” and I’m the one who is punished. I have suffered severe depression, starved to the point of losing over 25kg (my mum cried, said I looked like I belonged in a concentration camp) , developed bronchial infections because all I could afford to live in was damp, mouldy hell holes. Finally managed to move forward in live and IRD f**ks it up for me again! #thanxird

  2. Ludicrous is it any wonder depression is rife in divorced fathers, we don’t have any rights just open wallets that are raped by the IRD on a monthly basis.

  3. This is so sad. I feel for the men out there being ripped off by their ex partners and the Government. Sadly my husband is in a similar situation and it breaks me to see the men work so hard to pay out on what gives no justice to both. Your not alone John!
