I do not Qualify for any Family Assistance – Case 76

This is case study number 76

This is Terrance’s Story:

Terrance – Tell us about what is going on with your situation?

I have 2 children 9 and 7 I have them Thursday 5pm to Sunday afternoon flexible pick up time.

I am ‘allowed’ this arrangement and have had them like this for the past 5 years.

I do not qualify for any family assistance as I am only a custodian when I have my children and a single man when I don’t have them.

IRD have assessed me as 0-27% I gladly pay for their extra curricular activities they have their own clothes lunch school uniforms here at my house as well as their own things at their mothers house.

I am now as of last Wed homeless due to the earthquakes and repair on the home I was living in.

I do not qualify for any assistance as the rules apply at the outset.

How much did you pay on the old formula?

On the NEW formula what will that amount be per month?

Are you happy with the new formula?

What are your main reasons for being not happy with it?

No eligible help as outlined.

If child support was a set amount per child split between both parents for the basic necessities, what do you think is a fair amount per month per child?

As much as needed.

Terrance – thank you so much for sharing your story with us.

We want to hear your story!
