This is case study number 57
This is Antoni’s Story:
Antoni – Tell us about what is going on with your family?
I have 3 daughters. One is now an adult and I pay CS for the other 2 girls.
The 2 younger ones are 16 and 14.
How much did you pay on the old formula?
On the NEW formula what will that amount be per month?
Are you happy with the new formula?
What are your main reasons for being not happy with it?
Their mother commented she could reduce her work hours now that my payments are rising, however my daughters are not cared for i.e, for the amount I pay, they still have sub-standard clothing, schools fees are not paid, inadequate & sub-standard food supply.
If child support was a set amount per child split between both parents for the basic necessities, what do you think is a fair amount per month per child?
What else would you like to say?
Geez – where does my Child Support go to ? It certainly isn’t for the benefit of my children, I’m still having to pay for clothes, girls hygiene products, uniforms etc.
Make the receiving parent accountable for these necessities.
My girls have expressed a want to move to a 50/50 shared care arrangement. This suits me but not their mother as she loves the gravy train.
Even with a full 50/50 split, I would be paying $600 per month Child Support … why ?
Why can’t the mother get more hours at work and why didn’t she retrain or invest in herself when the girls were at school.
