We have so little food I live on Coffee – Case 87

This is case study number 87

This is Nigel’s Story:

Nigel – Tell us about what is going on with your situation?

3 Kids 1 with me 2 with the mum.

She does everything to stop me from seeing them and knows with the new way IRD have worked out the payments she gets more.

But now myself and my wife and our two kids with us (one ours one hers) are left with no money after rent power and gas for work.

So no food don’t ask how I’m going to pay the next power bill it’s so unfair it has put me into a bad place my wife sees I’m so worried and I find it hard to have a meal with my family because we have so little food I live on coffee and I know that’s not good but my kids need food to grow and be fit and well.

How much did you pay on the old formula?

On the NEW formula what will that amount be per month?

Are you happy with the new formula?

What are your main reasons for being not happy with it?

I’m so unhappy they haven’t really thought about what they have done I can see many families heading into trouble with IRD’s new child support.

If child support was a set amount per child split between both parents for the basic necessities, what do you think is a fair amount per month per child?

What else would you like to say?

Ird haven’t really looked at what they have done we will see people give up work and go on the dole as it will be the only way to live.

Some will lose there house or car.

But we know from what we are going though it may end our marriage.
