This New System is Crippling Us – Case 133

This is case study number 133

This is Mark’s Story:

Mark – Tell us about what is going on with your situation?

My 13 year old son lives with me 1 day short of 50/50 care.

I also have been financially supporting my partners 16 year old daughter that lives with us 100% of the time as her father very rarely pays child support and is years behind in payments.

This new system is crippling us and are now struggling to provide the necessities to our children.

How much did you pay on the old formula?

On the NEW formula what will that amount be per month?

Are you happy with the new formula?

What are your main reasons for being not happy with it?

It’s unfair that me financially supporting my step daughter does not come into account on how much I pay in child support.

Especially as my son lives with me pretty much 50% of the time and I also need to provide clothing, food etc for him while he is in my care.

If child support was a set amount per child split between both parents for the basic necessities, what do you think is a fair amount per month per child?

$500 or $250 split between
